As predicted, power rates are on the rise again. It increased in February 2021 from 17.3 cents per kilowatt-hour to 19.7 cents per kWh. Now, the CCU approved GPAs push for an increase from the current 19.7 cents p/kWh to 25.4 cents p/kWh. If approved by the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) the increase will be effective in July 2021. And with the price of oil steadily climbing, GPA rates could very well increase again in February 2022.
